4 reasons why Mobile Apps are successful

The average UK adult spends approx. 2 hours 29 minutes a day on smart devices, with 85% of that time being spent using Apps. It’s no wonder companies are utilising these stats creating Apps to promote their business. Improved technology means we can now push the right content to the right audience, at the right time. Here are our 4 top reasons why Mobile Apps are so successful…

  1. Open 24hrs

Once a customer has downloaded your app they are constantly being reminded of you and interacting with your company whenever they use their phones (2.5 hours’ worth!). This makes it quick and easy for them to access the company 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Your company working hours may not be able to stretch to that, but you can continue a high level of customer satisfaction even with the office lights off and doors locked.

  1. Notifications

Mobile Apps allow for receive ‘push notifications’, where customers receive alerts from said Mobile App. Alert topics include ‘new product releases’, ‘updates’, ‘news’, ‘messages’ and much more. This means that the users don’t even have to be visiting the company’s on or offline or even actively to be fed information. Not only it is designed for the user, but can be highly beneficial to the company itself also. Beauty Spas or Hairdressers for example, send text messages out to customers reminding them of their upcoming appointment at a set time before the arranged appointment, thus eliminating costs on no-show’s or last-minute cancellations.

  1. In-App Feedback

Ironically, the more information we push at customers the busier they become, making it difficult to get feedback about what they think of a company, service or product. Apps allow for a quick and easy way for customers to fill in forms/questionnaires, and asks for it at the right time. After an interaction, with mobile provider 3 for example, sends a text message that asks to score the experience out of 5, by simply replying with a number – it couldn’t be easier.

Another great example is used by ‘Neemware’ who offer a ‘shake to send feedback’ functionality that works by shaking your phone at any time whilst using their app to open a contact form to send feedback.

  1. Chat Widgets

Many apps have a “Chat Widget” where you can talk to customers in real-time, which can improve customer service, by making it easier to quickly reply to them, resolving the issues that occur when trying to deal with the problems over the phone or in person. As these problems or questions no matter how big or small can be attended to quickly it will leave customers feeling satisfied and happy with your service, meaning they are more likely to continue using or buying from you in the future.
