boxChilli Team Charity Challenge 2022

boxChilli started as a one-man business on Managing Director, Anders’ Bohea’s laptop with the simple ethos of “do good work.” We are now a successful 360 marketing agency with 25 driven individuals who are part of the boxChilli team. Now working with National Accounts and brands across the UK, we are still very much focused on supporting the local community. This is why every year, we choose a charity and, as a team, work together to raise as much money as we can.

Last year, boxChilli raised £1,180 for Solent Mind, who provide an essential service delivering support and information for those experiencing mental health issues in our community. We chose this charity because of the incredible work they do which was especially important during the COVID19 pandemic and the subsequent lockdowns.

With the difficulties of 2021, fundraising was a challenge. However as usual, the team took it in their stride. PR & Marketing Director, Alexandra Pinhorn, soared donations high with her Wing Walk where she raised funds for Solent Mind while strapped to the top of an aeroplane! Never say that the boxChilli team doesn’t aim for the stars!

Fundraising in 2022

With the world slowly returning to normal, in 2022 the boxChilli team wanted to get back to fundraising as a team. Many of our number spend time outside of work supporting the local community and giving back. We wanted to show our support by pooling all of our charity efforts and then splitting the money raised between these groups.

Antony is our boxChilli PPC expert and can be found maximising client sales with his skills, as well as keeping everyone laughing on those cloudy Mondays in the office. Every year, Antony brings joy to the community by supporting the Waterlooville Community Grotto. Christmas can be a tough time of year for some families, and these services give children something fantastic to enjoy around the festive period. Supported by Waterlooville Library, the Community Grotto team give presents that are both functional and educational – these are funded by charity donations.

Owen is our SEO developer, and when he’s not ensuring our SEO client websites are meeting Google’s performance criteria, he can often be found debating football with Antony. Owen runs a community Youth Group in the Waterlooville area for children aged 4 to 11. This was previously paused due to COVID and will be restarted in April. The Youth Group is a space where children can go to have fun, socialise and enjoy themed evenings, as well as lots of activities like games, crafts and baking. This is a fantastic event for the local children to make new friends and enjoy themselves.

We are immensely proud of the team for being involved in such activities which benefit our community and giving up their time to help others. This is why we thought donating to these groups is extremely apt, and we are already underway with fundraising activities for the cause.

The boxChilli team will be organising and attending fundraising events throughout 2022. Our first was The Great boxChilli Bake-off where the team went head-to-head with amazing culinary creations, judged by the company Directors.

Climbing Scafell Pike

At boxChilli, we’re used to helping websites climb to the top of Google. Now we’re taking on a climb of a different sort! In September, some of the team will be whisked away for the weekend to take on the Scafell Pike trail, which will be an intense weekend of hiking, challenge, and of course, plenty of laughs along the way.

Team building is an essential part of the boxChilli ethos and what better way to challenge our relationship than hiking, there really is nowhere to go but up! All joking aside, the boxChilli team love a challenge and with Scafell Pike being the highest and the most prominent mountain in England, this is the perfect feat for us to raise money for an excellent cause and do something which will go down in the boxChilli history books.

boxChilli will be continuing to complete fundraising events throughout the year and would love you to get involved. Every spare penny counts and is hugely appreciated, not only by our team but by the people in our community who reap the benefits of our donations.
